On the more vibrant color it is preferable to soak a cotton ball well and apply it for a while on the nail, in order to melt and dissolve the food solution.

It should be noted that the magic potion was developed for children and is intended to be a gentle and chemical-free solution. It is obviously not comparable to the standard polish remover which also removes the protection from the nail. All it takes is a little more patience on a deeper color, multiple coats, or more recent application.
